• These conditions form the basis for the relationship with our customers.

• Registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 99155125.

Clause 1: These Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to all service assignments issued to Legal-Expat, including the provision of legal advice by consultation.

The general terms and conditions apply to any services agreement as agreed at the time of confirmation.

If one or more provisions are void or contrary to law, the remaining provisions remain fully applicable.

These terms can be requested free of charge or downloaded via http://www.legal-expat.nl.

Legal-Expat is a trade name of Legal-U Nederland B.V.; where Legal-Expat is mentioned, Legal-U Nederland B.V. is the contracting party.

Clause 2: Our Services

• Legal-Expat provides legal advice and assistance in private law disputes.
• All services are accepted on behalf of Legal-Expat, not the individual advisor.
• Article 7:404 of the Dutch Civil Code is excluded; work may be performed by others under the advisor’s responsibility.

Clause 3: Legal Advice on Termination Agreements (Employment)

Legal-Expat provides legal advice on settlement agreements related to termination of employment contracts.

This service is offered at a fixed fee, including legal review, videocall, drafting proposals, negotiation strategy and negotiations with the employer.

The standard fixed fee is EUR 990,- excluding VAT. In most cases, employers reimburse these costs.

Clause 4: Legal Services for Rent Law Disputes

Legal-Expat works with fixed fees, agreed upon at the start of the assignment.

• Initial 45-minute videocall: EUR 150,- ex VAT
• Demand letter by bailiff: EUR 299,- ex VAT (includes two replies)
• Additional replies: EUR 99,- ex VAT per reply
• Out-of-court work: EUR 899,- ex VAT
• Court procedures (first instance): EUR 1.799,- ex VAT
• Rent Committee procedure: EUR 849,- ex VAT

Costs such as court fees, bailiff costs and registered post are charged separately as disbursements.

Legal-Expat does not charge hidden administration or office costs.

Clause 5: Payment

Invoices must be paid within 14 days without discount or set-off.

Interest applies after 14 days:

• Consumers: 3% per year
• Businesses: 1% per month

Legal-Expat may suspend work if invoices remain unpaid and retain documents until full payment is received.

Clause 6: Liability

Legal-Expat holds professional liability insurance. Liability is limited to the amount paid out by the insurer.

Legal-Expat is not liable for damages unless caused by intent or deliberate recklessness.

Clause 7: Personal Data and Privacy

By engaging Legal-Expat, you consent to the processing of personal data for the execution of the assignment.

All personal data is handled confidentially unless disclosure is legally required.

Clause 8: Termination

Both parties may terminate the services agreement with stated reasons.

After termination, a final invoice will be issued and must be paid according to Clause 5.

Clause 9: Disputes and Applicable Law

Dutch law applies to all agreements with Legal-Expat.

Disputes will be submitted exclusively to the District Court of Noord-Holland, location Haarlem, the Netherlands.
